is it possible to use any other devices to flash upgrade the ATMEGA, I cannot use the interface without the upgrade now, as my month old unit is only version 1.14

You will need a programmer to update the firmware. Another option would be to send the unit back and I can upgrade the firmware for you (just send 3$ to ship the unit back to you).
Later this year, the ATXMEGA64A4 will be available, with the extra program memory I will include a bootloader, so updates can be done with the USB-UART cable.

Was just checking to see if you have an update. Wow, you DO, I have 1.08
This is the hex download: xprotolab-hex.zip 112KB?

Hi,

Today I've tried to update the firmware on my Xprotolab v1.5 with partial success.
I'm using Studio 4 and a ZeptoProg (MattairTech) programmer to program v1.85 into my Xprotolab.
Programming the HEX was easy but the EEP file won't program.
Studio 4 claims that the EEP file is too big for the selected ATXMEGA32A4 device?!?
At this point the unit boots up in a inverted screen and seems to be stuck in the serial analyser menu.
By pushing and holding the menu switch I'm able to do a software reset to restore the defaults, and it all seems to be back to normal again.
But what about the EEP file, do I still need to program this some how?

Regards,
