dfu-programmer was created by ErnieLevesque
I tried to use the dfu-programmer to program my XProtolab mega.? I used the following line:
?
sudo dfu-programmer ATxmega32A4U flash xprotolab.hex --suppress-bootloader-mem
?
I did this for hardware versions 1.3,1,4-1.5,and 1.7-1.8.? Each of these seemed to require more than 100% of the memory.?? I also don't know if the .elf and .eep files are required.
The board is a "brick" now.? The bootloader appears to be okay and always puts the red led on when I power it with the switch held down.? Regular power on does nothing?
Any help is appreciated,
Ernie

I found an earlier post that had the same problem and the solution was to use Windows.
I have VirtualBox and a couple of Windows variants.?? I installed the dfu-programmer on Windows XP and was able to program the board.
I'm very happy and the XScope software is running very well.
