Hey Gabriel,/\r\n/First, I just got my XMEGA Xprotolab in the mail, and am super happy. Arrived quick and ready to go. The pc interface is working good on my i7 laptop, but I can't get the driver to load on my i5 laptop for some reason... but I'll figure it out./\r\n//\r\n/Anyway, my roommate had to take some Arduino classes for his physics major, and some previous student had dropped an older Xprotolab in the used parts bin. Instructor said go ahead and grab it.. It has the usb port but no pdi pins just a labeled spot for them. Splash screen says firmware 2.28.../\r\n//\r\n/I put it on a breadboard, plugged in usb, and jumpered awg to ch1. Now the screen lights up fine, and most things seem to work.. fft, meter, and such. But in scope mode there is a whole lot of jitter. I can turn off/on ch1 but not ch2. Likewise with cursors, gain, etc... and the awg seems to do nothing, and holding k1 seems to do nothing./\r\n//\r\n/So, we are wondering what it would take for you to help us save this from the parts pile, if possible./\r\n//\r\n/Me, I saw my roommate's Arduino, realized it would help me complete something I am designing, so I am scrambling to pick back up on high school electronics I took 30 years ago. I'm just learning how to use a scope and in no shape to fix one. My roommate isn't that much farther ahead. Like I said, it all was part of Electromagnetic Theory Lab.../\r\n//\r\n/Anyway, if it is something you are willing to help with it would be great./\r\n//\r\n/And thanks again for a great product. I have a Instapark 27w solar panel with 2 usb ports so I can take my Arduino and Xprotolab and parts out in the campus parks and learn in the sun.

Hi! First, look at the back of the board to determine the version number. Then update the firmware following the procedure on the manual, section 9.2. Let me know how the board behaves afterwards.

Hello!/\r\n/First I apologize.... asking for help then get tied up in life. Just posting this to let you know I am still alive and working on this.../\r\n//\r\n/Having problems getting FLIP working and such./\r\n//\r\n/Xprotolab is v1.7/\r\n//\r\n/When I power down by holding K4... as soon as I touch K1 everything is live, so I am assuning that holding K4 is more of a sleep mode./\r\n//\r\n/I tried unplugging usb at laptop, holding K1, and plugging back in twice./\r\n/First time Win 7 gave me a driver load fail/\r\n/Second time it seemed to work/\r\n//\r\n/Found ATMEGA32a4u in FLIP/\r\n/Set to USB and get: AtLibUsbDfu.dll not found - Could not load dynamic library/\r\n//\r\n/So, I missed a step or something. Hunting this down.../\r\n//\r\n/Anyway, huge thanks. Your customer support is legendary, products awesome... and you have 2 life long customers here.

Ok, see other thread on Firmware Update.../\r\n//\r\n/But TLDR/\r\n//\r\n/Followed 9.2.1 Firmware Update in Windows/\r\n/Screen on Xprotolab is white with black text and inverted/\r\n/Gabotronics splash comes up, then to UART Sniffer - Bit2: RX Bit3: TX/\r\n/FLIP wont open USB to it/\r\n//\r\n/If there isn't a "5 minute fix" at this point we are past the break even point./\r\n/Roommate was planning on buying one anyway./\r\n//\r\n/Although now I am concerned about updating mine in the future./\r\n/

If the EEPROM was not programmed, you can either try again, or an easy fix would be to restore the EEPROM settings: Enter the factory setup (hold MENU during the splash screen) then press RESTORE.

About the bootloader driver, it is only needed for the firmware update. But it seems that you are already capable of running the update. The bootloader driver is in the FLIP folder./\r\n/For normal operation, you need to install the WINUSB drivers using the ZADIG tool.
