I ordered the Xprotolab Plain and received it nearly 2 weeks ago.? I didn't bother to even plug it in until I built a nice aluminum/plexiglass housing for it, complete with chassis mount BNC connectors.
I first tried it with the android app, as this is how I really want to use it, but I didn't have any luck... I assumed my problems were due to being on 4.3, so I didn't despair.? I proceeded to download the driver and program for my laptop.
Windows doesn't recognize the device to install the driver.? The green LED on the board lights up, but this is the only sign that anything has been connected - no messages, no audio chime, nada.
Am I missing something?? Did I just have terrible luck?? Help?
Edit: Oh, and is there any way to change my username?? I used my email when I ordered, not thinking about a related forum...

I can try to change the username, what do you want to use?/\r\n/Does the red LED blink briefly when connecting to the PC?/\r\n/If not, can you inspect the USB connector to see if it is properly soldered?

Embarrassing admission time.? Embarrassing because I know better.? The problem was the usb cable: apparently the power and ground leads are still fine, but there is a problem in the data line.? I got the new one and it started behaving the exact same way.? I realized then what the problem was and sure enough, all it took was a good usb cable.
I normally scoff when troubleshooting starts with the blatantly obvious stuff, but it's amazing what you can forget to try sometimes.
Anyway, since it was my mistake, you were so good about sending me another, and my notorious tool borrowing neighbor is already eyeballing it, why don't you just bill me for the second unit and shipping and I'll chalk it up to a reminder of a lesson I learned years ago.
Maybe I can trade the second one to my neighbor for the return of my shop vac...
