I think I blew my Xprotolab

Ok, so I accidentally put +5v on the -5v pin to power my Xprotolab.  When I realized my error, I put the Vcc on the correct pin and the scope powered up.  Everything boots fine but now no trace shows up when I put the AWG output on CH1 or 2.  The autoset does not help and the battery symbol on the top LHS of the display is constantly lit.  When I set it to meter (VDC), a grounded input pin shows as 17.7 volts or so.
I had the Xprotolab on a breadboard so I pulled it off and held it while this time I powered it via USB.  That's when I felt the regulator near the +/- pins getting hot (but not burning).
I re-burned the lastest firmware to reset everything but no change.
Does it sound like I blew the -5v regulator?  If so, is it salvagable?

Hi. Yes, it sounds like the -5V regulator is damaged. Yes, it can be repaired, here are some quick instructions on how to fix it:
The part number is TPS60403DBV.
This chip is behind the display, to replace the chip you will need to remove the double sided tape under the display. Do not try to lift the display because it will break. To remove (destroy) the double sided tape do as following: Using a small jeweler?s flathead screwdriver, reach under the display and apply a sideway motion to cut thru the double sided tape. You can fit the screwdriver between the K1 and K2 buttons, and then between the K2 and K3 buttons. Once the tape is cut, or mostly cut, you can try lifting the display, but you must use little force.
After replacing the chip, verify that everything works before putting on a new tape?

Great... that's what I thought also. Two lessons learned here:
1. CUT THE -5V pin off before using! It is too close (imo) to the +5 supply pin for comfort.
2. Buy the Xprotolab Portable, which keeps people like me from accidentally putting Vcc on the pin!
I know this is not how you want to make a sale but I so like the Xprotolab, I will now buy the portable and try to fix the hurt little guy I have now. Thanks!
PS. any chance you have any of those regulators you can sell me.  I am trying to source one here in Ottawa, Canada and it is not easy to find.

Made the same rookie mistake..
Was able to get a free sample shipped from TI.. :)

It is not quite identical in part number: TPS60403DBV T But the datasheets are identical.
Will see if it works when it arrives ...
