Another customer is planning to use the MultiKitB in their synthesizer system. It sure is cool to look at the signal of the sound you are hearing. This is their initial concept:
About a year ago, Will and I realized that we were coming close to approximating the essential function of a "Synthi-100" Synthesizer (in terms of number of Oscillators, Filters, etc.). And so, as we gazed at our photo of a Synthi-100, we were considering what our synth was missing in terms of modules. That old venerable beast included an oscilloscope and although we have a nice old Tektronics, we mused about an integrated alternative. About that time, we noticed that Dave Brown, a MOTM guru, had built a little digital one - and then we stumbled into David Ingebretsen's unit and so also on your site.We've found that in making these synth Modules, getting the panel is the most time-consuming part. Often, an engineer will create a synthesizer circuit and PCB and suggest the controls for it - but there are different standard formats for the panels. "Euro," "Frat-rack," etc. I can't even remember them, really. David Ingebretsen's synth is in one of those. Our synth is in the "MOTM" or "5U" format and so Will's design for the panel layout is consistent with layout of the other MOTM 5U modules.
