I checked and USPS seems to accept your address. Is it that USPS just doesn't ship to Ukraine?

You can select also DHL, I can reimburse excess shipping.

A hardware modification was required to reduce some noise that appeared on CH1 when using high gain. The CH1 path is phisicaly close to the DC-DC converter, so it was picking up some of that noise. This was solved by changing the value of resistors R1,R4,R5,R6,R11,R13 from 10k to 3k ohm.

I am selling the last units of the first batch. There has been great interest in this device!
I am making an update to the PCB to improve the appereance and improve analog performance. I should get the new boards in a couple of weeks.

Updated the BOM and schematics. I created the first draft of the manual.

I had to layout a new PCB since the OLED I was using is apparently going end of life. However, I like the new OLED much better, it uses a charge pump instead of a step up converter. The step up converter generated more noise. I have also seen that the current consumption has dropped considerably (perhaps I was using bad parts, like a FET with a high Ron). Now the total current stays below 50mA.

Topic : Sampling rate

Hi, the sampling rate on the Xmegalab is 16MSPS, shared for both channels. The Xmegalab is currently not using the DMA for acquisition, although I think its possible.

To sample at 32MSPS I would suggest a faster microcontroller (like the AVR32 UC3), or even better. an FPGA + SRAM solution.

See my oscilloscope comparison table, look for open source designs and it will give you more ideas.

Helo, What is actual sampling rate of ADC. Is it 16Msps or 32Msps (16Msps per channel). If it is 32Msps, would xmega be capable of acquiring data from two adc's (eg. via 2xDMA). I'm asking because I'm interested in building MSO.   Marcin

Hi Mark

Thanks for participating. I think I was not clear on the rules, the goal of the contest is to spread the word. You must post a link where YOU mention this offer. It must be on an unique website.

I have just ordered the PCBs for the Xprotolab. I am real excited about this new product, I am planning to pack as much features as I can in this little device, while making it affordable to everyone.
Even though it is a tiny device, it will not be a simple plain oscilloscope, it will have all the advanced features of modern scopes. A few of the features:

Dual channel oscilloscope with spectrum analyzer
Arbitrary waveform generator
Logic analyzer with serial and parallel decoding
Bus analyzer for I2C, SPI, RS232
RS232 to USB converter

And since it will be in a DIP module, just plug one on every one of your projects!

1) correct

2) yes, the xmegalab can store waveforms on the sd card in the following formats: BMP, CSV and WFM. The WFM is the internal format which also saves all the scope settings.

Hello

I would like to clarify a few issues.

1. What exactly means - Buffer size per channel: 256

Does this mean - if we have - Sampling rate: 16MSPS, the oscilloscope can remember and display a continuous signal only 256 points -. ie 256 / 16MSPS = 16 E-6 sec.

2. Can an oscilloscope to record and read waveforms on a memory card?

Thank you.

Topic : Frequency Sweep is very slow

Hi there!

Yes, I am aware of this behavior. I am planning to improve this in the next few versions. About the revision 'H', that is the revision of the microcontroller. The firmware version of the system appears when you power up the device. As of today, 2010/08/03, the latest revision is 0.99. If you have an AVR programmer, I recommend you update to the latest version.

You can always send me an email to answer your questions faster.

Regards,

Gabriel

Topic : Frequency Sweep is very slow

Hi, I bought an Xmultikit, and I love it, but I have one problem. It feels like the frequency sweep for the AWG is in some sort of "fine tue" mode. Spinning the decoder takes forever to signifigantly change the frequency, and I was wondering if this is intended, if my machine is broken in some way, or if there is another way to change the frequency more quickly. I already know about the numpad and how it changes the nymber of cycles in the buffer, but even the 0 key only gives me around 20 Hz (If I were to spin it for a very long time, I'm sure I could get it to go much higher). I am running revision H (It says revH on the test screen) and my unit was produced in May 2009. If this issue has been fixed in a firmware update, please let me know. Thanks!
