no I know that in order to connect this to your PC uou need the cable that you sell. however, there seems to be an unused pin set for "interface". I own a arduino USB to UART converter, wich acts as a USB serial port and can also re-program ATmegas with the arduino bootloader.
since it preforms in this manner, can I solder some wires to it and connect it to this as an alternative?
P.S: I ordered an Xminilab and am inpatiently waiting for it to arrive! it has been "Processed Through Sort Facility" for 5 days and counting with no change. but tha's nothing for you guys to worry about! |

Will the "special cable" work with this new hardware version until the USB stack is finished? If so I will hack me the cable ASAP! I wanna see this thing feeding captures to my PC!
*EDIT* I need to read more before I ask such questions! lol!
P.S. Thank you for your awesomeness Gabriel!!! |

af thank you for quick reply
i was not very good describing my problem
it shuts down even while using /pressing buttons it will not start up for a while then even when removing 5v power and restarting/trying to....
the power supply is from a 9v battery and 7805 5v regulator. my voltmeter shows 4.98V which should be ok.....
thank you/dz |

do I need to use a resistor or something else btw the 7805 and +5V bus ?
I dont gnow to much about electronic circuits ....I just want to use the scope to monitor the car oxygen sensor and a frequency valve
thank you/dz |

Dumb question about Battery power
If the Scope is supposed to run off of 5v, how do they get it to run using 3-AA batteries??? Is there a +/- 5v variance???
Just would like an answer in kinda plain english how it works this way.
Thanks ahead of time, for your time. |

Actually. Recently, i'm working on a algorithm that should be able to display a 128x64 image in greyscale at 10 to 20 fps using component video.
If i get it to work i will share the source with u.
It cheats the resolution conversion by skipping scanlines and pitches. |

About hardware v1.7
[ganzziani 2011-12-08 18:21:01]:
Currently, HW 1.7 does not have the USB stack ready. However, the USB bootloader does work. I have just updated the manual to show how to update the firmware.
The PC application is in development as well, but the Xprotolab 1.7 can communicate to it thru the external port.
Nice thanx |

Thanks for building such an awesome tool, by the way!
I got a v1.7 Xprotolab, and while I'm aware that the PC interface is still in development, I don't see any tools or information about it. I'm not asking for ETAs or anything, but I would love to know a bit more information about the USB protocol you're developing, or perhaps a place where I can stay updated on it.
Either way, keep up the great work, and I can't wait to see what else you can come up with :)
Thanks,
KodeK |

It would be challenging to take a video signal and display it on the Xprotolab display.
If you are experienced in programming microcontrollers, it would be simple to create games on the Xprotolab. |

Dude.. this is just a amazing tool and gadget.
A buddy in the usa sent me on of these for some reason.
After reading up on it all day and messing around with it
i am VERY impressed with it's size and capability.
I ordered about 20 of them from a distributor in south africa 7 of them i'm giving as presents this Xmas to a few good friends around work.
The others i am keeping for myself. =)
Thank you for the effort.
I'm working on a project to use a XMEGA Xprotolab as a screen for a small handheld genesis game console.
Trying to figure out how to convert Composite video for use with a osciloscope as a display.
I'm not the most switched on guy in our electronics group at work.
Can any one please help me?
Thank you.
:-edit
Pehaps there is a better way to get the image onto the screen.
I was wondering.. would it be posible to fit a small game into the memory of the device.
Like 'pong'? |
